[A Look At Jenny Lewis: Written By Amber]

I should start out this post by saying that in my next life I hope to come back as Jenny Lewis. That’s how much I love this little lady. Oh folks, if you are not familiar with this red headed songstress then you have been missing out. After several years fronting the California country pop indie rock band Rilo Kiley, this ex-child actor embarked on a stellar solo career penning two dirty country rock albums that have been on constant rotation on my ipod since their releases. Its Jenny’s ability to craft toe tapping ditties saturated in clever and deeply personal lyrics that has left this music lover in awe. She is clearly a lady of the canyon in both music stylings and fashion, opting for cut offs jeans and dirty tees when performing on stage. It was that West Coast hillbilly hippie look I was going for when recreating her style. It was a feeble attempt on my part, because in the end my Texas sports bar attire and beginner level uke skills are never gonna match the awesomeness of this first-rate record maker. Alas, I’ll have to settle for being an admirer from afar and continue on with my daydreams of owning a voice that can stand alone in a stairwell.
